Cycling route around Lake Santa Croce starting from Bastia D'Aplago, at the large parking lot on Via Grava.
Starting from the parking lot, cross the road and go down Via del Mulino, then cross again on Viale Alpago and enter Via Peschiere. Follow it all the way until you turn sharply left onto a dirt road.
From here, follow the Nature Oasis trail, a vast area of reeds alternating with a grove of willows and poplars. After about 2 km, you cross the bridge over the Tesa stream and quickly reach Lake Santa Croce. After passing Camping Sarathei, continue on the concrete cycling path. After passing the beach, the route continues in the woods, with a bridge that requires assistance due to small steps at the beginning and end. Continue on a well-maintained dirt road, bordering the lake.
After passing the fishing area and the boat dock, you arrive in Poiatte at the Baywatch bar, a little over 5 km from the start. The return is via the same route.
Notes:
This is a long route, for which an off-road wheelchair with wheels and a stabilizer is recommended. For crossing the bridges, which have small steps, the presence of an accompanying person is advised. The route can also be done in reverse.
Reserved parking is available at the Baywatch bar in Poiatte. In some sections, particularly those near the beach, the route is also feasible with a hand-pushed wheelchair.
