Previously the church, documented in the 13th century, was situated along the Piave river near the "Pedrè" while the old church, destroyed during the First World War, was located where the "Papa Luciani" oratory stands today: the area, at that time, belonged to the territory of the ancient Piave di Santa Maria di Soligo.
