The inhabitants of Sernaglia della Battaglia decided to make a vow and for this reason erected the church of San Rocco, so that the Saint could free them from the plague that ravaged the area between 1629 and 1631.
The simple architectural structure of the building has not undergone significant changes following the restoration work made necessary after the bombings that occurred during the Great War. Instead, the elegant two-tone geometric decoration arranged on the vertical portions between the pilasters that used to adorn the facade before the War has disappeared; the removal of this decoration, dating back to the early 18th century, now suggests a more strictly Neoclassical decorative design.
