The Church of San Lorenzo, located in Campomolino di Gaiarine, features a structure from the 16th century with likely origins in the 13th century. It is the best-preserved church in the municipal area, also thanks to a significant restoration completed in 2001, which revealed, among other things, new frescoes.
The building has a single nave, with four minor altars and a baptistery. The presbytery is separated from the nave by a balustrade and a few steps. A previous restoration, documented between 1758 and 1761, testifies to the ongoing care given over time to the preservation of the church.
The main altar is the oldest, built at the same time as the 13th-century chapel. On it are placed two panels by Pomponio Amalteo, depicting Saint Peter and Saint John the Baptist. In the center is a painting by E. Dall’Oglio from 1759, depicting the Madonna with Saint Teresa, Saint Lawrence, and Saint Matthew, placed in replacement of the original work that was lost.
