The imposing cathedral dedicated to S. Maria Assunta and S. Tiziano Bishop, of ancient history, dominates the square. It has been rebuilt several times, the latest in 1773 in neoclassical style by the Treviso architect Ottavio Scotti. Inside, one can admire an episcopal cathedral built in the first half of the 15th century and notable paintings, among which are: two panels by Jacopo da Valenza (noted 1484-1509) and canvases by Girolamo Denti (circa 1510-1572), a pupil of Titian, Palma il Giovane (1548-1628) and Leandro Da Ponte (1557-1622). In the crypt, the relics of St. Tiziano, co-patron of the City and the Diocese, are preserved. Next to the church stands the bell tower, erected in the 13th century for defensive purposes, modified several times. At the foot of the bell tower, a monument dedicated to Pope John Paul I (1980) has been placed. In the chapter rooms, above the sacristies, one can visit the Cathedral Museum, arranged to illustrate through sacred objects and documents a history that dates back to the 7th century AD.
