The Alpago Section of the Italian Alpine Club is an important reference point for mountain enthusiasts and for those who wish to know and experience the alpine territory in a conscious and respectful manner towards the environment.
The section organizes excursions, mountain outings, training activities, and initiatives dedicated to understanding the natural environment throughout the year. Within it, various groups operate, including those dedicated to hiking, youth mountaineering, trail maintenance, and Naturalistic and Cultural Operators. The National School of Mountaineering, Ski Mountaineering, and Free Climbing is also active, through which training programs are offered to approach the mountain with adequate technical preparation and attention to safety.
The 2026 program offers a calendar of excursions and initiatives of various types and difficulties, from hiking outings to multi-day experiences, up to activities dedicated to via ferratas. Among the proposals published for the summer of 2026 are, for example, excursions in the Dolomites area, the Val Gallina–Alpago crossing, an outing to the Fonda Savio Refuge and Forcella Rinbianco, a two-day excursion to the Pale di San Martino with an overnight stay at the Pradidali Refuge, and the "Summer on the Via Ferrata" program, consisting of three via ferratas of increasing difficulty.
Alongside sporting activities, CAI Alpago carries out important work to enhance and protect the mountain, promoting knowledge of the environment, care for the trail network, and the dissemination of a mountain culture based on respect, safety, and sharing.
