The project "Antiche Vie" included the creation, restoration, and maintenance of the trails "Sentiero delle Coste", "Sentiero Le Gardenate", "Sentiero del Col de la Cros", "Sentiero Fontana Nai", "Sentiero Militare dell'Aspra" and the recovery of the historical monumental sites of "Col de la Cros" and "Bus del Ciodo".
Thanks to the collaboration of many willing people and the valuable testimonies of the few elders who have preserved the memories of their fathers' tales, it was possible to reconstruct two historically significant sites: "Il Col de la Cros" and "Bus del Ciodo". The first of the two sites is actually the natural ridge of Col Piai, the summit of which is now illuminated by a cross, placed there at the end of the Great War by the inhabitants of the village as a thank you for the end of the war events that had upset it. The second historical-monumental site is the ridge of Monte Castel, which today marks the border between the municipalities of Farra d'Alpago and Puos d'Alpago, and is commonly remembered by the villagers as the "Bus del Ciodo", where during the year of Austro-German occupation, an Austrian howitzer remained positioned on this hill, taking its name from the "nail" that Austrian-German officers had fixed to the upper central part of the helmet. The "Sentiero Militare dell'Aspra" which is part of the historical-naturalistic route, connects the site of "Bus del Ciodo" to the village of Farra.
In addition to these two sites just described, the route includes the "Sentiero delle Coste" and the "Sentiero Le Gardenate". Of the first, we can assert with certainty that it is an ancient artery that connected the historic center of the village with the settlements and farmhouses located above the village itself. The artery was undoubtedly a fully paved transit route bordered on both sides by dry stone walls. Of the second trail or "Sentiero Le Gardenate," we can say that it was actually a secondary road that connected the inhabited center with the scattered settlements in the area of "Piai" through a short route. Finally, it was possible to recover the site of socio-cultural importance "Sorgente Fontana Nai" and the homonymous trail, which are part of the historical heritage of our village, saving them from neglect and abandonment.
