If you are passionate about ancient architectural beauties and at the same time want to indulge in wonderful rural landscapes, the “Tour of the Villas” is for you. Leave your car in the square in Trichiana and following the signpost 2324, venture through the little streets that take you around the village and its hamlets. Admire the noble and gentlemanly residences built between the 16th and 18th centuries, which are still well preserved today.
Nearby, you will find Villa Piloni-Federici-Foscolo, still inhabited and visitable only by reservation. Built near the ancient castle, razed to the ground after the battle of Casteldardo fought between the people of Belluno and Treviso for control of the territory and communication routes, it still maintains intact around it the farming countryside of meadows, vineyards, and cultivated fields.
The beautiful little churches you encounter along the route are also stunning. You cannot miss the Pieve di S. Felice, considered one of the oldest in Valbelluna and an ancient parish from the 6th century, strategically located near the Piave River, where there was a ferry for the transportation of goods and people under the jurisdiction of the Greater Council of Belluno.
The route can be taken year-round and is suitable for gravel biking and Nordic walking.
