On Friday, December 19, the theatrical performance "The Strike of the Girls - The Heroic Comedy of 1902" will take place as part of the XVI Edition of the 5Vie theater festival at the Teatro San Gaetano in Castion.
Girls, or rather little girls, who worked as apprentices with the seamstresses of the city. The smallest was only six years old and the oldest just fourteen. Their strike was the first underage strike in the history of Europe. For five long days.
These tiny creatures fought against the giants of their time. Their story speaks to us in a direct and powerful way, because their strike tells us that no right is won or defended without taking risks, without putting oneself on the line, and that the path to democracy is a constant effort in which one cannot back down.
