The trail climbs through the woods encountering the waterfall of Borca, then crosses huts and clearings with views of Antelao, Sorapiss, and Marmarole. Sunday, November 9 – ARSIERA AND ITS ANCIENT MINES with ELIA Arsiera is an ancient abandoned village used for centuries by miners working in the mine located in the surrounding woods and by those who managed to extract what was necessary for survival from the forest. The settlement can only be reached by trails, leaving the place suspended between present and past. The hike continues to the mines, which were used to extract lead and zinc. Packed lunch. The loop path begins in a dense forest but as we gain altitude the vegetation tends to decrease, giving way to 360° views of the Friulian Dolomites, Julian and Carnic Alps, Adriatic coast and Veneto-Friuli plain.
