The logbook of an ambitious dream: crossing the Atlantic and discovering the world aboard a sailboat. Elia Favaro guides us through stormy seas and starry skies, candidly recounting the challenges of solo sailing, from choosing the perfect vessel to its meticulous preparation. Amidst amusing anecdotes, technical mishaps, and memorable encounters, a story of passion and perseverance emerges, where every obstacle becomes an opportunity for growth. The Coconut, a steel boat from the '80s, transforms from a simple means of transport into a companion of adventures, leading its captain to discover not only new geographical horizons but also personal ones. A book that celebrates the courage to follow one's dreams, even when the sea seems too vast and the waves too high. Because as the author writes:
“Perhaps, the hardest part of a journey like this is precisely deciding to depart, to cast off the moorings, and to leave the safety of life on land for the unknown. And I am extremely happy to have had the courage to do so.”
Elia Favaro, born in the province of Treviso in 1993, has always been a free spirit with a thousand passions. In love with the sea since childhood, he spent his youth dreaming of distant horizons. After graduating, he began working with a clear goal: to buy a boat and cross the Atlantic. After years of sacrifices and adventures, he turned that dream into reality, recounting it with irony and passion in this first book, to inspire those who dream of a life outside the ordinary.
